Sustainably sourced ebony wood is handcarved with "comet" details and high polished creating an interesting play of textures around the ethically sourced Ethiopian rose-cut opal. This opal is on fire! It has a fine texture and all colors throughout. If you'd rather have a more minimal day, this necklace is reversible to a brushed oxidized sterling silver circle with hand-forged solid 14K gold rivets. The chain is 16.5" and 1.1mm wide solid 14K gold.

Ebony is a great wood for jewelry. Since it is so dense and has an abundance of natural oils it doesn't need a finish. All my ebony pieces are hand-polished without any compounds to keep it natural. Ebony doesn't need much care, simply wipe it with a soft cloth if it needs cleaning. Do not submerge it in water and try to not get it wet. Wipe with a cotton swab (damp is ok) if you need to get into the recesses.
